Klayonic questioned:
Does anyone know of any software that will simultaneously capture AND compress 1hr of video into either an AVI or MOV 320×240? Or is this impossible? Thanks!

You do need the right codecs installed on your system for the various formats. For example, h.264 requires x264 or a similar encoder. Mpeg-4 requires the XviD or DivX encoder. Etc.

If you want to record and real time compress videos or online TV, you can use oripa video recorder. If you record your screen activity, you can use oripa screen recorder.
